Can't decide between a Mayan adventure and the beach? How about both? Travel inland to Belize's cool Cayo district and the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve for a swim in a pristine river en route to Caracol, arguably the best and most extensive Mayan ruin in Belize. Think that's impressive? Get ready for the mother of all Mayan cities, Tikal, a short drive over the Guatemalan border. Grab a snorkel and finish off with some beach time on Belize's largest island.

Day 1 Belize City/Cayo Airport

You'll be met at the airport and head to your hotel to check in. Evening at leisure.

Day 2 Cayo (B,L)

Explore the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, Rio Frio Caves and swim at the Rio On bathing pools. Then on to the famous Maya Site of Caracol for picnic lunch and a tour. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3 Flores (B)

Travel through scenic countryside to the Guatemalan border to pass through customs before heading to your hotel. Relax this afternoon and explore the town.

Day 4 Flores (B,L)

Enjoy a full day tour of the magnificent, well-excavated Maya site of Tikal nestled in the dense jungles of Peten, and walk the ancient paths of the Mayans.

Day 5 Ambergris Caye (B)

Today we fly via Belize City to the quaint and charming seaside town of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Your day is at leisure.

Day 6-7 Ambergris Caye (B)

Spend two days at leisure on this island paradise. If you're bored walking along the miles of sandy white beaches, try an optional day tour to nearby Hol Chan Reserve and Shark Ray Alley.

Day 8 Ambergris Caye/Belize City (B)

Morning land/air trip back to Belize International Airport.
