Royal Inca Trek, Machu Picchu, Cuzco.

All the Inca essentials, including a full day's hike along the Royal Inca Trek, part of the longer Inca Trail. Start in Lima and travel to colonial Cuzco, Peru's Incan heart. Enjoy two days exploring the museums and markets of the ancient Incan capital, and visit the picturesque sites and towns of the Sacred Valley before heading out on the Royal Inca Trek to Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu. Rise early to view Machu Picchu in the morning light, and enjoy a guided tour of the site before heading back to Cuzco by train. A taste of the trail without the blisters!

Day 1 Lima

Arrive in Lima at any time.

Day 2 Cuzco (B)

You'll be picked up early from your Lima hotel and taken to the airport for your flight to Cuzco. When you arrive, you'll be met and taken to your Cuzco hotel to acclimatize and the remainder of the day will be yours to use as you please.

Day 3 Cuzco (B)

Enjoy exploring this quaint town on your own today - there are plenty of little plazas, restaurants and handicraft markets to discover!

Day 4 Sacred Valley (B, L)

Travel with a local guide on this spectacular journey through Sacred Valley in the heart of the Inca Empire. Visit the picturesque towns of Ollantaytambo, home of a massive Inca citadel and Pisac. For a breathtaking experience, spend the night in intimate surrounds at Sacred Valley.

Day 5 Aguas Calientes (B)

Ride a morning train through the Urubamba Valley to the start of Royal Inca Trek. This historic path opens a world of possibilities as you hike part of the ancient trail that winds by the ruins of Winayhuayna. After the scenic hike, visitors arrive at the thermal hot spring town of Aguas Calientes for a restful overnight visit.

Day 6 Aguas Calientes (B)

Today it’s off for a guided tour of the “Lost City” of Machu Picchu. This marvel of human engineering is a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with spectacular scenery including the Wayna Picchu peak, a popular stop for those who wish to get away from the crowds. In the evening return to Cuzco.
