Manaus, Amazon Rainforest

Spend four days exploring the Amazon jungle, the world’s largest tropical rainforest, from a comfortable Lodge. By day, we traverse the jungle by foot and boat following paths and waterways observing the unique flora and fauna with a local guide. By night, we search for Caiman along the riverbanks and relax at the lodge exchanging stories with new-found friends.

Day 1 Manaus/Amazon Village Lodge (D)

From Manaus you are transferred to the Amazon Village Lodge. The trip on board a local river boat takes about 2 1/2 hours and passes by the " Meeting of the Waters" and continues through a side arm of the Rio Negro to the Lodge. The transfer is a rather enjoyable experience and a great place to start wildlife observation.

Day 2 Amazon Village Lodge (B,L,D)

After breakfast we go on a guided jungle trek. and the guide will explain all about the local flora and fauna. After lunch we go on a reconnaissance tour by motorized canoe to visit inlets of the amazon river and a flooded rainforest.

Day 3 Amazon Village Lodge (B,L,D)

After breakfast we have a guided fishing trip and a visit to a native "Caboclo" dwelling, your afternoon is at leisure.

Day 4 Amazon Village Lodge / Manaus (B)

After breakfast we check out of the lodge and return to Manaus.
