What better way to see the Amazon…than from the Amazon? Board your own floating, moving hotel, and cruise the world's largest river system with ease. Wake to the sounds of the Rio Negro River, the Amazon's main tributary. Explore the surrounding jungle on rainforest walks, poke up estuaries in canoes, and move each day to new sights and sounds. Visit traditional communities, and finish with the "meeting of the waters," where the milky Solimões meets the dark Rio Negro to form the mighty Amazon. Visit the Amazon the way it's meant to be seen - by water.

Day 1 Manaus

Arrive in Manaus, where you travel to your hotel for the night.

Day 2 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Board the motor yacht and sail the Rio Negro as you cruise through the world’s largest river island system, the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Here’s your chance to spot pink river dolphins and exotic birds. Later try swimming in the refreshing water.

Day 3 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Rise early and explore the rainforest by boat. After breakfast take a guided jungle walk to learn about Amazon ecology. Return for lunch then embark on a cruise. In late afternoon you can explore the forest by boat and listen to the sunset chorus of wildlife.

Day 4 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Rise early and experience the rainforest as it awakens. After breakfast take a forest walk or a boat excursion. Tonight the boat embarks on a night sail.

Day 5 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Enjoy two morning excursions. In the afternoon visit Rio Jauaperi, home to a forest known as the Varzea. Here you can search for indigenous creatures. Later prepare for a night excursion to observe nocturnal jungle life.

Day 6 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Today continue on the Rio Negro. In the afternoon you can take a rainforest walk and at night search for wildlife.

Day 7 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

Visit the boat building village of Novo Airão steeped in 19th Century architecture. Tonight sail downstream to arrive by morning near the river's confluence with the Amazon River.

Day 8 Rio Negro (B, L, D)

This morning explore the Lago Janauari Ecological Park. The thick brown water of the Amazon flows through the forest and makes for excellent wildlife viewing. In the afternoon the boat sails to the “Encontra das Aguas,” where two of the world’s largest rivers, the Amazon and the Negro, join in a turbulent maelstrom. Sail in the evening for one last look at nocturnal life.
